I have been using folding frame screens for many years. They're easy to fly with in comparison to a tripod screen. Set up time can be a bit of a problem if you're in a real time crunch, but nothing says *professional presentation* like a fixed screen on free standing legs. Comparing a tripod is like comparing a restaurant that serves with plastic forks as opposed to really nice silverware. I always get to my venues with an hour to spare, although the set up really only takes me 25-30 minutes.
The Alltec model is one the nicest I've used and it is by far the best I've used for under a grand. While I would have appreciated a heavier leg to give extra support, the T-shaped legs offered here are actually sturdier than most of the same configuration. The fabric is well made and the case is easy to lug around on wheels. I haven't yet had an issue with one of the wheels getting stuck or damage (something that I've dealt with concerning other manufacturers.)
I named this review a True Upgrade, not because it's the best screen I've used, but it's far better than the last screen I had of the same size. For the larger folding frames I use a truss style as that's all that's available. The truss style screens can cost several thousands, but for a standard snap-on design, Alltec is now my go-to choice.
