I wanted a native 4k projector and the Sony VPL-XW5000 hit the mark in a price range that was not out in left field. Picture quality is awesome. Set up was a breeze.

-Customer Review From Sony.com

BRIGHTNESS EQUALS A TV

Pros:
Cons:
This is my fourth projector. It is by far the brightest and best contrast projector of all.
I especially love the remote. It is designed so that a person like me that is not a trained set up person can navigate.

I very much recommend this product for home theaters.

This projector is amazing in every way, contrast, resolution, image processing, brightness. It was worth the money and the entire family is enjoying movie nights on our 150" screen.

Cons:
Just passed the 100 hour mark on the projector and I am really impressed. Picture is amazing. Detailed, deep blacks and the colors are incredible.
Using all sources from OTA TV to 4K HDR on Kaleidescape the unit delivers.
Highly recommended.

Spectacular true native 4k laser projector

Rating:
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
Pros:
Cons:
Spectacular true 4k image. It’s absolutely stunning when you have the right source material (like Eugene Belsky’s 8k60fps HDR videos on YouTube.) The image can be too dark which may be remedied with a screen. The remote is junk. It is too large, too many functions and despite having an ES receiver, I can’t control everything from a single remote. Ceiling mounting was also an issue because Sony chose 3 vs 4 mount points. Yet it’s all worth it for the spectacular image.
